Co-Director & Specialist Physiotherapist - London Sports Physio
Areas of Expertise
Special Clinical Interest
Josh Hawksworth is Co-Director and Specialist Physiotherapist at London Sports Physio, with extensive experience treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries across leading London NHS hospitals and elite professional football. He treats the full range of conditions seen at our Sutton clinic including knee pain, shoulder pain, Achilles tendon pain, joint pain, sports injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. He is a member of both the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MAACP).
With a special clinical interest in injection therapy and diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, Josh is one of a small number of physiotherapists in the country trained to deliver ‘one-stop’ consultations, combining on-the-spot ultrasound imaging with corticosteroid and hyaluronic acid injections for joint, muscle, ligament, nerve and tendon conditions. This specialist capability means clients can be assessed, diagnosed and treated in a single appointment, without the need for onward referral.
Josh has worked in elite sport as a physiotherapist at West Ham United and Charlton Athletic Football Club, giving him a deep, real-world understanding of injury rehabilitation, return-to-sport protocols and performance under pressure, experience he brings directly to every client he sees at London Sports Physio. As part of this commitment, he contributes to the Education Hub, London Sports Physio’s dedicated education hub, where clients can access expert guidance on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and long-term physical wellbeing.
Josh holds a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health from University College London (UCL), with a specialist focus on Achilles tendon pathology. He also has significant clinical expertise in managing osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder and complex joint pain, and maintains close professional relationships with consultants across Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Neurology and Pain Management, both locally in Sutton, South London and in central London.
At London Sports Physio, Josh combines his NHS, elite sport and academic background to deliver expert, evidence-based physiotherapy for all musculoskeletal conditions at our Sutton clinic.
