Pain is not always straight forward and on occasion can persist beyond the normal time that tissues take to heal following an injury. This pain is less to do with the injury and more to do with our body as a whole.
There are many factors that contribute to persistent pain including our beliefs, past experiences, emotions, stress, environment, life factors and general helath. All these factors impact the body in some way, shape or form and can lead to changes within our central nervous system such as chemical imbalances that lead to hyper-sensitivity and changes within the brain that increase our pain levels.
All pain is variable and relative, and it is definitely real. But everyone has the power and ability to significantly improve their life despite living with persistent pain.
Our clinicians are experienced in managing chronic pain having worked in award winning Pain Management services. We can help people with long term (persistent) pain develop the skills they need to manage their condition, increase their activity and improve their quality of life. This is done through providing a greater understanding of pain, patience and specialist techniques to help dial down the pain in your body like a volume dial.
