There are often many contributing factors to an injury and is it important your rehabilitation considers all of them.
A biomechanical assessment is a specialised evaluation of a person’s movement patterns , joint mobility and strength to identify any areas that may be susceptible to injury or limiting your ability to reach your maximum potential in your sporting activity.
Joints and muscles do not work in isolation and an injury often effects other parts of your body. Unusual postures, abnormal movements and fear avoidance can develop causing secondary complications than your original injury. A biomechanical assessment will look at this relationship and conclude whether pain in one area is due to weakness or structural problems in another.
A biomechanical assessment will involve analysis of your gait, functional movement, gait and closer hands-on examination of joints and muscles.
