Special Clinical Interest
Jai Mistry is Co-Director and Specialist Physiotherapist at London Sports Physio, with over 15 years of experience treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries across the NHS and private practice. He treats the full range of conditions seen at our Sutton clinic including neck pain, back pain and sciatica, hip pain, sports injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. He is a member of the specialist Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP).
With a special clinical interest in back pain and sciatica, Jai works in his NHS role as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist alongside neurosurgeons, managing complex spinal pain clients across South West London and Surrey. He is one of the most experienced spinal physiotherapists in the Sutton and South West London area.
Jai has recently been appointed Spinal Lead for the South West London Integrated Care Board (ICB), overseeing spinal care pathways and evidence-based policy across six boroughs: Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth, a testament to the trust and recognition he has earned among senior clinicians and healthcare leaders across the region.
Jai is currently completing his PhD research in back pain and sciatica at Western University, Ontario, Canada. A published researcher with numerous peer-reviewed publications in the fields of spinal pain and spine-related leg pain, he presents at national and international conferences and teaches at master’s level at universities across the UK.
Beyond his clinical and academic work, Jai is an active contributor to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), where he has been invited to speak on health inequalities and post-colonial perspectives in healthcare, exploring how the legacy of colonialism continues to shape health outcomes today and how physiotherapists can work to decolonise practice and equalise care for racially marginalised communities. You can view his CSP speaker profile here.
Committed to advancing the profession and empowering clients with knowledge, Jai is also a key contributor to the London Sports Physio Education Hub, our dedicated resource for expert physiotherapy articles, in-depth condition guides, rehabilitation advice and the latest clinical research. Jai’s peer-reviewed research papers are featured in the Research section of the Education Hub, giving clients, clinicians and students direct access to the evidence base that underpins his clinical practice. Whether you are a client looking to better understand your condition or a clinician seeking the latest evidence on spinal pain management, the Education Hub is your go-to resource.
At London Sports Physio, Jai brings this exceptional breadth of clinical and academic expertise to every client, delivering individualised, evidence-based physiotherapy for all musculoskeletal conditions at our Sutton clinic
